1980 - Mid 1983:

A small operation on 17 miles of track, Walkersville - Taneytown, leased from the State of Maryland. Did less than 200 carloads of business per year, 1 small locomotive, no cars owned or leased. Market value of stock = pennies per share.

October 1, 1983:

Purchased Westminster - Highfield line, 37 miles, from CSXT with private capital company raised.

July 1987 - July 1988:

Restored service to Westminster - Finksburg line, 8 miles, washed out by hurricanes Agnes and Eloise in early 1970's, and leased from State of Maryland.

August, 1988:

Purchased with private capital Finksburg - Glyndon line and miscellaneous Westminster track from CSXT, 5 miles, and placed in service.

June 1997:

Made formal offer to CSX to purchase Hagerstown - Gettysburg - Hanover - Glyndon - Baltimore line.

September, 1999:

Lehigh Portland Cement Company, our largest customer, breaks ground to double size of plant. $300 million Lehigh investment will take plant to 2,000,000 tons/year capacity

October, 2001:

New Lehigh Cement plant comes on stream for trial runs. Full production anticipated for 1st quarter 2002.

December, 2001

New Lehigh plant in full production.

February, 2005

Purchased line that MMID had been leasing from the State of Maryland

Own 10 large locomotives
